Screen Americas was recognized by Inkjet Summit participants as the “Company to Watch” in 2017 for its production inkjet technology. The company was feted again as a Company to Watch at the recently concluded Digital Packaging Summit 2018, in Ponte Vedra, FL, USA.

Organized and managed by NAPCO Media and nGage events, Digital Packaging Summit 2018, a three-day, invitation-only gathering in Ponte Vedra, played host to 80 printing/packaging executives anxious to expand their knowledge of inkjet technology as it relates to their label and package printing and associated businesses. Approximately 40 solutions providers who sponsored the event presented to and interacted with the packaging executives, sharing case studies and first-hand reactions by users of the sponsoring companies’ technologies. Label and packaging executives at this year’s Summit voted Screen Americas as the Company to Watch. 

This marks Screen Americas Americas’ third year participating at the Digital Packaging Summit and ninth such appearance in the Summit series that includes the Inkjet Summit held each spring.

“The Summit emphasized for us what we’re seeing in the market every day,” says Mark Schlimme, VP of marketing at Screen Americas Americas. “Digital label production in the US is now growing beyond simple short-run or novelty, variable content projects. Our customers need the speed, scale and cost efficiencies of inkjet for all run lengths, as well as mass customization.”

Screen’s case study at the Digital Packaging Summit featured customer, BGR Label, whose operations manager, Scott Kneer, reinforced that position in an earlier statement: “We initially thought the sweet spot was going to be 5k to 20k linear feet, but we’re running millions of linear feet a month.” Kneer was referring to his company’s Screen Truepress Jet L350UV and L350UV+ digital inkjet label presses, acknowledging that the economies are on track for expanding print run lengths in inkjet label printing. “We converted about 95% of our 4-color process from our flexo to our digital,” he adds.

BGR Label was selected by Label & Narrow Web magazine as a 2018 Company to Watch.

Screen Americas’ success with its digital inkjet label technology reflects its sister division Screen Europe’s ascension to the No. 1 market share position in the UV inkjet label production category on that continent. And worldwide today, Screen has 100+ units of its UV inkjet label technology installed.
